Just remember it was only 6 years between the release of the last of the Batman series before the new darker version appeared and we shall see the same reincarnation of a darker Spider-Man.
Like most teenagers, Peter Parker is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy, and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents' disappearance - leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr Curt Connors, his father's former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors' alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero. This is the first in a series of movies that tells a different side of the Peter Parker story.
Reviews:
“Graced with great performances from Garfield and Stone, The Amazing Spider-Man is a rare comic-book flick that is better at examining relationships than super-heroism.” Ian Freer Empire Magazine
“Webb successfully treads a fine line between keeping the hardcore superhero-movie fans happy and injecting a dose of meaningful affect.” Andrew Pulver Guardian (UK)
“Has characters you can fall in love with, and bags of charm. The series is in safe hands.” Dave Golder SFX Magazine
