Since ancient times stories of epic battles and mystical legends have been passed through the generations across the rugged and mysterious Highlands of Scotland. From Disney and Pixar, a new tale joins the lore when the courageous Merida confronts tradition and challenges destiny to change her fate. Brave follows the heroic journey of Merida, a skilled archer and headstrong daughter of King Fergus and Queen Elinor. Determined to carve her own path in life, Merida defies an age-old custom sacred to the unruly and uproarious lords of the land...and their sons, the suitors: surly Lord Macintosh, massive Lord MacGoffin and cantankerous Lord Dingwall. Merida's actions inadvertently unleash chaos and fury in the kingdom, and when she turns to an eccentric witch for help, she is granted an ill-fated wish. The ensuing evil forces Merida to harness all of her skills and resources - including her clever and mischevious triplet brothers - to undo a beastly curse before it's too late, discovering the meaning of true bravery.
Reviews:
“Amiable, action-packed without being overbearing about it, and marked by a new level of visual complexity, even by Pixar standards, Brave peddles a pleasant but somewhat conventional tale with assurance and panache.” Brent Simon Screen International
“plenty of 'big' ideas here for small minds to think about.” Amber Wilkinson Eye for film
“Adding a female director to its creative boys' club, the studio has fashioned a resonant tribute to mother-daughter relationships that packs a level of poignancy on par with such beloved male-bonding classics as Finding Nemo.” Peter Debruge Variety
If you liked….Up, Finding Nemo or Ratatouille…you will love BRAVE
