Dad has a burgeoning political career with no time for family matters and, perhaps mum is a little eccentric, but, did she deserve to be institutionalised for it? With typical resolve, Dad picks up a hitchhiker to care for his five daughters who all have a ‘uniqueness’ of their own and the girls learn soon enough from their new nanny that being ’different’ is not so bad afterall!
