Synopsis: It’s 1927 on South Solitary Island off the coast of Tasmania. It’s cold, windy and probably raining. Meredith Appleton and her uncle, George Wadsworth, the lighthouse keeper, try to make the best of a bad situation. She is a "chin up!" sort of a girl, and she needs to be in these circumstances. She attempts to befriend the few people on the island including the reluctant assistant lighthouse keeper where a close friendship could blossom.
